A California-based sports memorabilia company thinks Johnny Manziel’s 2012 Texas A&M football jersey could be worth at least $100,000.
SCP Auctions said it has verified that the maroon home jersey is the one worn by Manziel when he became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy.
“This is his only game-used jersey from his college career that has come to market,” said SCP vice president Dan Imler, would not identify the jersey’s owner.
The company said the shirt was offered on eBay in May for $300,000.
The jersey, which is being displayed this week at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, will be auctioned online Aug. 6-23.
The highest price paid for a used college football jersey is believed to be $27,000 for one worn by former Notre Dame great Paul Hornung, Imler said.
